Accessibility statement

Everyone should be able to read, navigate, and use this site. Here’s what we’ve verified so far — and, just as honestly, what’s still pending.

Our target

This site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Not as a badge to display, but because a website that only works for some people is a website that doesn’t work.

What has been verified

As of 20 September 2026, the following checks were run against every page of this site (and against the interactive states — all three homepage previews, and the contact page with its brief preview open):

  • Automated audit: axe-core 4.10.2 with the rule sets wcag2a, wcag2aa, wcag21a, wcag21aa, wcag22aa and axe’s best-practice rules (which is where landmark structure, heading order, and skip-link checks live). Result: 0 violations across all pages and states, in both light and dark appearance (42 page/state combinations).
  • Keyboard operation: every interactive element — navigation, the services menu, the homepage’s concept switcher and demo, the FAQ accordions, the “find your fit” matcher, the About page’s terminal, the 404 arcade (arrow keys), the Playground toys, the contact form and its preview dialog — is operable with a keyboard alone, with Escape closing overlays and a working skip link as the first stop. The games and toys are optional extras; the site works completely without them.
  • Visible focus: keyboard focus shows a clear outline on links, buttons, and controls; confirmed by measurement, not assumption.
  • Color contrast: text/background pairs measured against WCAG ratios; body text, links, buttons, and status colors meet AA for their sizes (the two blue tones used for small text and button backgrounds were darkened specifically to clear the 4.5:1 threshold).
  • Target sizes: interactive targets meet WCAG 2.2’s 24×24 px minimum, with inline text links exempted per the standard.
  • Motion: all animation — scroll-linked reveals, the pinned process scene, the decorative fluid-ink background, page-to-page transitions, floating elements, confetti celebrations, seasonal ambience, the decorative ticker — is disabled or reduced when your device requests prefers-reduced-motion, and the decorative generative backgrounds become a single still frame. There is no autoplay media and no flashing content anywhere.
  • Light & dark: the site follows your system’s colour-scheme preference and offers both appearances — no toggle, and nothing stored. Both were audited with the same tooling and contrast thresholds.
  • Structure: one main heading per page, sequential heading levels, landmarks, and labeled form controls — checked both by the automated audit and by reading the markup.

What is still pending

Honesty matters more than a clean-sounding claim, so here is what the checks above do not cover yet:

  • A full manual screen-reader pass (VoiceOver/NVDA) by a human — planned before public launch.
  • 200% text-zoom and reflow spot-checks on physical devices.
  • Testing with people who use assistive technology day to day.

Until those are done, this page will keep saying so.
